Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) began transitioning vehicle registration renewals, replacement vehicle registration cards and licensing plate retention renewals from customer service centers to electronic channels on Monday.

Dubai motorists whose vehicles are less than three years old will be able to access these services using the RTA website, the Nafethati smart kiosk and the Drivers & Vehicles app.

“A team of RTA attends to the realization of the vision of our government aimed at reducing the number of customers visiting customers’ service centers by offering accessible and safe service delivery channels to maximize their happiness rating,” RTA Licensing Agency CEO Ahmed Bahrozyan said. “The alternative smart and electronic apps are immensely popular with the business sector as well as individuals since they save much of their time and effort as well as the hassles of waiting for processing their transactions. They made life easier for them as customers were no longer required to report to service centers.”

The rerouting of the three vehicle-related services is part of the second phase of Electronic Transition of Services Project launched last year. The initial phase targeted the corporate sector and saw the electronic transition reach up to 90 percent.
