A recent meeting was held between the Dubai Green Economy Partnership (Dubai GEP) and Cleantech San Diego in California to discuss how to encourage the cleaning industry to adopt green products, technologies and services around the world.

This blossoming partnership also aims to facilitate the trade and investment involved in novel green technologies, both regionally and internationally. The UAE stands to benefit the most from this trade and investment trend, as the region has named 2015 the “Year of Innovation.”

“Cleantech San Diego looks forward to continuing conversations with the Dubai Green Economy Partnership,” Jason Anderson, president and CEO of Cleantech San Diego, said. “Our organizations share a common goal of advancing opportunities for Cleantech solutions worldwide. We are excited about the prospect of future collaborations between our two regions, which create valuable opportunities for Cleantech San Diego member companies to conduct business on a global scale.”

“The partnership will give green technology innovators in Dubai privileged access to a vast array of companies and service providers under the Cleantech umbrella,” Fahad Al Gergawi, CEO of Dubai FDI and secretary general of Dubai GEP, said. “The Silicon Valley has led the tech boom. These innovations are set to transcend across green technologies. Furthermore, Dubai FDI is encouraging the U.S.-based companies to come to the emirate and set up shop as demand for green technologies ramps up.”

“I believe that to truly grow the green economy in Dubai, we need to connect with international markets, communicate our successes and discuss the challenges, while also sharing knowledge learned from global industry leaders,” Marwan Abulaziz Janahi, executive director of EnPark, a member of TECOM Investments, said. “The forum provided an important platform for us to showcase Dubai GEP’s achievements and accomplishments within the energy sector.”
