German medical and pharmaceutical device firm B. Braun recently established a subsidiary at the Dubai Biotechnology and Research Park (DuBiotech), a free zone business park.

B. Braun Medical Gulf will serve as a regional hub for the company’s four divisions, offering the Gulf region a range of products and services for medical capital equipment, planning and consulting, and training and education.

B.Braun CEO Markus Strotmann said the company’s philosophy is rooted in sharing expertise.

“This means that by sharing knowledge with our clients, B. Braun helps to improve therapies and procedures in hospitals and clinics to increase the safety of patients, doctors and nursing staff,” Strotmann said. “This also helps drive innovation by exchanging knowledge with health care professionals and increasing efficiency with our expert employees worldwide.”

DuBiotech Executive Director Marwan Abdulaziz said that because the United Arab Emirates’ (UAE) health care sector has excellent growth potential, Dubai is well positioned to become a regional hub for research and development investment by major firms.

“The UAE has an open-door policy to attract foreign investment, and together with the UAE government DuBiotech is working toward facilitating synergies that favor innovation, growth and development,” Abdulaziz said.
