As some Dubai neighborhoods become sanctuaries for
high-class culinary experiences, a new Mexican restaurant is bringing authentic
flavor to the Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard downtown.

Maximal Concepts and the Emaar Hospitality Group are
partnering to open the Brickhouse, a restaurant serving traditional Mexican
street food. The restaurant, which is scheduled to open within weeks, will serve patrons from noon until midnight on weekdays, and noon until 1 a.m. on weekends.

With an executive chef who has worked for renowned
Latin foodie Rick Bayless, indoor and outdoor seating, and a range of menu options, the Brickhouse promises to add some of the best flavors of
Mexico to a city that’s already known for its cosmopolitan
cuisine.

“Brickhouse stands out by delivering a
fresh and innovative alternative intertwining food and beverage concept.” Timoth Stanhope, corporate director of food and beverage for the Emaar Hospitality Group, told the Gulf News Journal. “It will appeal to
lifestyle enthusiasts who appreciate specialized venues that are carefully
designed and brought to life by a passion for quality and ingredient-focused
cooking. The culinary team at Brickhouse thrives on creating and developing
real homegrown food – ensuring each dish is designed to resonate with the diner
and bring the spirit of Mexico alive on the doorstep of Dubai.”

The staffing choices, he said, were intentional.

“Clearly appointing a specialist group of people in the creation,
preparation and delivery of Mexican food is vital to the ethos of the
restaurant and serves as a guarantee to prospective customers that our
commitment to delivering an authentic Mexico City street culinary experience is
paramount to our overall objective.” Stanhope said.

As for the menu, Stanhope pointed to dishes such as the tuna tostada with Yuzu dressing, bonito flake and salmon roe, as well as “ceviche”
dishes such as Hamachi Hunter jazzed up by jalapeño vinaigrette; and Dos Chicas served
with prawn, calamari, mango and burnt lime oil.

There are also more classic options.

“Tacos are always popular, and Brickhouse doesn’t disappoint.”
Stanhope said, listing ingredients like poblano, chile, Spanish onion, manchego
cheese, griddled tortilla and chipotle aioli that will give Birckhouse tacos a
particular flair.

Entrees will include daily fish options and a black
Angus beef short rib with chili lime relish and avocado salad.

All of this, Stanhope said, is geared to appeal to a
discriminating palate.

“Dubai’s foodie community will revel in the opportunity to eat and
savor authentic Mexican street food … in a perfect location, proving Brickhouse
will be a simple feel-good sanctuary to eat, network or converse with friends.”
Stanhope said.

Chris Newman, corporate director of operations for the Emaar Hospitality Group, talked about the Brickhouse as a “new
step” to complement an existing portfolio of 40 restaurants.

“Our objective is to introduce an eclectic, yet exciting,
concept that combines homemade authentic food that appeals to the city’s
passionate food-lovers with a design-focused interior.” Newman said in a recent press release. “Brickhouse
aims to be a local eatery involved with the community, and part of Dubai life
and the artistic scene.”
