Emirates NBD, a major banking group in the Middle East, North Africa, and Türkiye (MENAT) region, recently held the second edition of its Private Banking Next Generation programme. The event was organized in partnership with PwC and Visa and aimed to prepare future business leaders for the challenges of managing family wealth and succession.
The United Arab Emirates has seen a significant increase in the number of ultra-high-net-worth individuals, which highlights the country’s growing appeal as a destination for wealthy investors and professionals. Factors such as advanced infrastructure, supportive regulatory frameworks, and premium real estate have contributed to the UAE’s attractiveness for private capital.
The programme was held at a time when the Middle East is experiencing a notable transfer of wealth between generations. This transfer is expected to surpass USD 1 trillion by 2030. The increasing complexity of asset diversification, regulatory requirements, and legal structures has led many families to seek expert guidance on legacy planning and governance.
During the event, next generation business leaders received presentations on topics such as family business governance, effective board membership, entrepreneurship, and the impact of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI).
Mohammad Al Bastaki, Group Head of Private Banking and Wealth Management at Emirates NBD, stated: “Our Next Generation programme is a cornerstone of our commitment to supporting our ultra-high-net-worth clientele and their families. By fostering deep, meaningful relationships with these clients, we deliver tangible value beyond traditional banking and empower their successors with essential tools for an evolving global landscape. Bringing together the global expertise of PwC’s insights with Visa’s lifestyle excellence, we are setting a new benchmark for thought leadership and client experiences in the region.”
The Next Generation programme is part of Emirates NBD’s broader strategy to help clients and their families preserve and grow their wealth.
