The Qatar
Chamber of Commerce recently hosted a delegation from Birmingham, England, to discuss economic cooperation and the Business and Investment Forum that will be held in Birmingham and London in March.

Honorary
chamber member Ali Abdullatif Al Misned chaired the Qatari side of the meeting and spoke about ties between the private sectors of
both countries. Al Misned noted that there are currently 600 United Kingdom-based companies in
Qatar, and Qatar has invested more than $37.7 billion in the UK. Additionally,
trade volume between the two nations has reached $2.5 billion. Al Misned said Qatari business people are open to analyzing
Birmingham investment opportunities.

The head of
the English delegation expressed his hope for increased
investments by both sides in 2017. He noted that these meetings help showcase
potential partnership ideas, and emphasized the fact that the British
economy is stable despite the recent decision to leave the European Union. He said the upcoming business forum will prove that.
