A collaboration agreement was reached last week between Etihad Airways of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Accenture to improve the airline’s productivity and overall business practices.

Accenture will provide consultation services in areas relating to supply management procurement, human resources and financing. The consultants will work alongside airline employees to help staff understand best practices in their respective areas in order to bolster efficiency and productivity.

“To sustain Etihad Airways’ current and future growth, we need to achieve operational and organizational efficiency by creating an integrated approach to business processes, underpinned by a scalable, common technology platform,” Etihad’s Chief Information and Technology Officer Robert Webb said.

Accenture will also be working with Etihad’s main technological partner, SAP, in developing new enterprise resource planning software and a testing center for new technological solutions.

“This business transformation, built on the next-generation SAP HANA platform, will elevate Etihad Airways to the next level,”

Omar Boutos, managing director of Accenture Middle East, said. “By developing a technology-driven business strategy, Etihad Airways will benefit from improved productivity, and simplified and more integrated core business processes that will give the airline greater flexibility across the organization.”

The airline will also be working with PA Consulting Group and Grant Thornton for overall program quality assurance and tax related activity.
