Etihad Airways, the United Arab Emirates’ national airline, said Monday  that it is now one of the major partners with the Zurich Film Festival.

Etihad Airways said it has always supported global culture and arts, and this partnership emphasizes the company’s efforts to prioritize its culture and arts standing.

The new sponsorship deal will feature Etihad Airways’ brand in several locations throughout the festival’s venue. The brand will also be integrated with the print, cinema, digital, radio, TV and outdoor channels of the festival’s campaign. Etihad Airways will fly several high-profile international celebrities, media representatives and industry figures to Zurich. In return, Etihad Airways will display many promotions for the festival in the Festival Centre’s exclusive film lounge.

“This agreement demonstrates our active support of global cultural events, engagement in the local communities we serve and reinforces our long-term commitment to the Swiss market, which we have been serving since 2004,” Etihad Airways Chief Commercial Officer Peter Baumgartner said. “We are proud to announce this partnership and fly international personalities to one of the biggest cultural events in Switzerland. Travelers from more than 50 cities around the world can conveniently reach Zurich and Geneva using Etihad Airways’ daily flights, and the domestic and regional European services of our partner airlines, airberlin, Niki, Alitalia, Air Serbia and Etihad Regional.”

This year’s Zurich Film Festival will be held from Sept. 24 to Oct. 4.

“We are very excited about our partnership with a global brand like Etihad Airways, which is underpinned by a shared vision of bringing people together from across the globe through arts and culture,”

Zurich Film Festival Co-directors

Nadja Schildknecht and Karl Spoerri said. “In only 11 years, the Zurich Film Festival has achieved huge recognition within the film fraternity and continues to attract A-list celebrities and industry heavyweights to one of Europe’s most picturesque cities.”
