Etihad Cargo, the freight division of Etihad Airways, the UAE’s national airline, recently started offering its customers a new cargo benefits services through the company’s partnership with the World Cargo Alliance (WCA), the largest network of independent freight forwarders in the world, and the IT provider Worldwide Information Network (WIN).

The special rates are available for WCA members if they are also members of CargoConnect, the loyalty program of Eithad Cargo. They must use the WIN e-platform to book their flight and finalize air waybill transactions in order to receive the benefits. The platform provides a single location where customers can see instant pricing of all of the online Etihad destinations and origins, e-air waybill, e-booking, and track and trace features.

This new platform is the first of its kind within the cargo industry. It was launched for the sole purpose of offering special rates for select destinations and origins in the Etihad Cargo network.

“Part of our continuing growth story will be underscored by our ability to meet the needs of our customers, in a rapidly evolving cargo market, whether they are a large multinational company or a small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) user that needs to send goods and services around the world to grow their business,” David Kerr, vice president of Etihad Cargo, said. “By continuing to develop our partnership with the WCA network and achieve firsts in the industry, we can continue to meet the needs of our growing customer base.”
