The Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry recently hosted the 48th board meeting of the Federation of GCC Chambers (FGCCC), in
partnership with the R.A.K. Chamber.

Noteworthy participants of the meeting included
the second vice chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Abdulhameed
Al Kooheji, as well as CEO Nabeel Al Mahmood.

The meeting consisted of approving minutes from the previous
board meeting and considering the chamber’s recommendations, a discussion on
the chamber’s memorandum on the challenges faced by GCC countries concerning
customs, and assessing customs procedures as well as the terms of reference.

Before the meeting concluded, members were briefed on the
accomplishments of the General Secretariat of the FGCCC concerning the barriers
to achieving GCC economic unity. In addition, members gave their opinions on
topics that should be discussed during future meetings with GCC Ministers of
Labor and Ministers of Commerce and Industry and accepted the annual report and
the financial report of the General Secretariat of the FGCCC dated through Dec.
31, 2015.

The board meeting was held in Ras Al Khaimah, part of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
