Ambassadors Riita Swan of Finland and Dashgin Shikarov of
Azerbaijan recently visited the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry
to talk about areas of mutual interest in expanding trade and investment with the emirate.
Helal Mohammed Al-Hameli, who serves as the chamber’s deputy
director general, hosted the envoys and offered insights into particular
industry sectors prepared to engage in global transactions such as education,
IT and invention industries. Investment in key areas can make Abu
Dhabi an important economic destination to practice business,
Al-Hameli said.
Swan, who toured the chamber’s member service center
guided by Al-Hameli, complimented the emirate’s economic health and its
infrastructure. She relayed Finland’s hopes to reinforce relations between the
two nations, conveying the desire for Finnish companies to visit Abu Dhabi to
explore investment options.
Al-Hameli’s talk with Shikarov focused on the potential for Azerbaijani-Emirati economic development, citing
guidelines provided by the long-range goals outlined in Abu Dhabi’s Economic
Vision 2030 plan. Shikarov was able to observe evidence of the Abu Dhabi chamber’s services and facilities as well.
Shikarov expressed Azerbaijan’s willingness to engage in
trade, stating that his country features an open economy in alignment with
global growth indexes.
