Ashford University will soon offer, for the first time, prior
learning assessment tests at its San Diego-Sunroad headquarters.
The tests are
being made available through a partnership with the nationally recognized
DANTES Subject Standard Tests (DSST) program. The center, slated to open July
30, will offer DSST prior learning assessments, previously known as the DANTES
test. The tests will include more than 30 college subjects, including business,
math and social sciences, and will be offered from 8 a.m. to noon each Saturday.
“Ashford University is excited to offer a new testing
service to students and the local community,” Heather Albin, Ashford
University strategy manager for military and veteran services, said. “Ashford’s DSST
testing center will be a good addition to the list of services the university
already provides to its students, military service members and those
affiliated with the military.”
Testing fees may covered for active duty military, select
spouses and some military civilian employees. The Veterans Administration may
reimburse the exam costs to veterans who complete the testing.
The DSST program allows students college credit for
participating in educational opportunities outside of the traditional
classroom and is approved by the American Council on Education (ACE). Work and
educational experience that can be applied to the DSST test is military
service, independent study and on-the-job training. Go to www.getcollegecredit.com to schedule
