Fluor received a Hydrocarbon Processing award on June 3 at the sixth annual International Refining and Petrochemicals Conference (IRPC), which took place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, given for assisting with a recently completed chemical project.

The company was recognized for its role in the Sadara Chemical project in Saudi Arabia. Specifically, the company was lauded for providing engineering, procurement and construction management services for the project’s utilities and offsites, such as field storage, service facilities, infrastructure, electric substation, administration and buildings.

“Fluor congratulates Sadara on this industry recognition for its development of the new chemicals complex, which is the world’s largest chemical complex ever to be built in a single phase,” Taco de Haan, president of Fluor’s Energy & Chemicals business for Europe, Africa and the Middle East, said. “Fluor participated in an integrated team effort consisting of professionals from our Khobar, Saudi Arabia; Farnborough, U.K.; Manila, Philippines; and Houston, Texas — offices that were dedicated to completing this project on time and on budget.”
