Umm Al Qura University has received international academic accreditation from the German Accreditation Agency of Health and Social Sciences (AHPGS) for four academic programs.

The accredited programs are the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery program of the college of medicine; the medicine and surgery program of the college of dentistry; and the bachelor’s degree programs of B Pharm and Pharm D of the college of pharmacy.

UQU Vice President for Academic Development and Community Service Dr. Hani Ghazi said that the accreditation is based on the plan set by the vice presidency for all the colleges of the university to meet academic accreditation standards.

University Development and Quality Dean Dr. Mohamed Thabit said the team from the accreditation agency visited the school several times to meet with deans and department heads of the individual programs before assessing the programs for accreditation.
