The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry will host the first Commonwealth of Independent States Global Business Forum Feb. 17 and 18 in Dubai.

The event, titled “Ancient Routes — New Opportunities,” will bring together business leaders from the regional and international business communities to discuss the changing economy in the Middle East and how old trading partnerships with neighboring countries could be leveraged to ease the transition into a more diversified, sustainable business climate.

Government officials from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hong Kong will attend, along with business and government representatives from Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, the United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Luxembourg and Georgia.

Keynote speakers include DP World Chairman Ahmed Bin Sulayem; Eurasian Resources Group CEO Benedikt Sobotka; Dubai International Financial Center Authority CEO Arif Amiri; and Masdar CEO Ahmad Belhoul.

“The forum in its first edition in Dubai is an opportunity for UAE and Gulf-based companies to explore the most promising markets of central Asian countries,” Dubai Chamber President and CEO Hamad Buamim said. “It will inspire in-depth dialogues between investors and officials on economic trends — and plans to attract investments and seek partnerships for the future.”
