GOVERNMENT OF QATAR: Advisory Council Approves Amending Law on Entry, Exit of Expatriates

Government of Qatar issued the following announcement on July 3.

The Advisory Council held its regular weekly session under the chairmanship of the Speaker of the Advisory Council, HE Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud.

At the beginning of the session, the Council discussed a draft law amending some provisions of Law No.21 of 2015 regulating the entry and exit of expatriates and their residence, and decided to approve it and submit its recommendations thereon to the esteemed government.

The Council also discussed the report of the Cultural Affairs and Information Committee on a draft law amending some provisions of Law No.1 of 2016 regulating sports clubs. The draft law came is in line with the ongoing developments and updates in international regulations and standards related to the independence of sports.

The Advisory Council further discussed the report of the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee on a request for discussion on the National Food Security Programme. After an extensive discussion, the Council decided to return the report to the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee for further study.
