GrassCo, part of the Al Sorayai Group, recently sponsored and participated in the 3rd Annual Middle East Smart Landscape Summit 2015 based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, from April 28 to 29, 2015.

The event, which was hosted at Sofitel The Palm Resort and Spa based in Dubai, featured a series of case studies, keynote speeches, networking sessions and panel discussions dedicated to subjects that are pertinent to the landscape architecture industry.

More than 400 dignitaries, prominent personalities, government authorities, senior level landscape architects, developers, urban planners, contractors and environmental specialists from throughout the GCC.

The first day concentrated on how to apply sustainability in the parks located in Dubai, designing with nature, landscaping from the perspective of a private developer, ecological restoration, how urban spaces impact public health, using aerial drones with landscape architecture, sustainable landscape architecture, irrigation solutions, artificial turf, Singapore living systems, landscape construction adversity in UAE and various systems for edible and productive landscapes.

Experts discussed artificial grass and how it is best used for sports and recreational facilities throughout the Middle East. This session, titled “Why Artificial Grass makes sense for the Sports and Recreational facilities of the Middle East,” concentrated on the opportunities and challenges that artificial grass presents to sections of landscape and sports based in the Middle East’s arid region.
