Gulf Air was recently named the official carrier for the Batelco Drag 965 Racing Team.

“Gulf Air welcomes the opportunity to support a key national racing team as its members travel across the airline’s network representing the Kingdom globally,” Gulf Air Corporate Affairs and Communications Director Mohammed Hulaiwah said. “We have watched the team grow and improve over the years to become one of the best — not only locally and regionally, but also internationally. We wish them success and look forward to many podium finishes.”

The telecommunications company’s drag racing team has already taken part in numerous local and international events this year. Among its 2016 wins so far have been the 24 Hour Endurance karting race in Oman, the Bahrain 24 Hour Endurance and the Dubai Kartdrome Endurance Championship. Currently, the team is ranked seventh out of over 700 endurance racing teams across more than 250 countries.

“As our success grows and we have the opportunity to participate at major international events, having the support of Bahrain’s National Carrier, Gulf Air, is a big boost and we are delighted to have their commitment,” Batelco Corporate Affairs Senior Manager Osama Alsaad said.
