Hungary is expanding access to visas in the Middle East with its opening of a new visa application center in Kuwait.
The new location follows the opening of a similar application center in the United Arab Emirates and is expected to be followed by two more in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain in the new few months. Officials hope the new visa center will simplify and expedite the visa process for visitors to Hungary coming through Kuwait and provide a boost to Kuwait-Hungary tourism.
“Hungary has always had a special relationship with Kuwait,” Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade László Szabó said. “It was the first Gulf country which established diplomatic ties with Hungary and helped us to sell Hungarian products to other countries of this region. Our cooperation is distinguished with deep mutual understanding, excellent cooperation in both political and economic fields, as well as with excellent people-to-people relations.”
The center will feature staff fluent in local languages, automated queue management, door-to-door delivery of documents and a lounge.
“We are determined to do our best to open the gates wider for people living in Kuwait to visit Hungary,” Szabó said. “The opening of the visa center is a very important step in this regard. I am confident that the visa center will help us achieve our goal to make the visa procedure fast and smooth — and will significantly contribute to the development of the cooperation between Hungary and Kuwait in the field of tourism.”
The new application center is located on the first floor of the Albanwan Building on Ali Al-Salem St., in the Al-Qiblah neighborhood of Kuwait City.
