Ideagen Group PLC, a U.K.-based firm that delivers information-management software to the defense and aerospace industries, recently acquired risk and compliance software developer Gael Ltd.

Ideagen works with many of the largest producers in the defense and aerospace sectors to standardize processes to improve both the quality and safety of their global operations and supply chains.

Major Ideagen customers include Lockheed Martin, Boeing, BAE Systems, Raytheon, Northrop Grumman and General Dynamics — all of which look to Ideagen for secure information systems.

The purchase of Scotland’s Gael Ltd. strengthens England-based Ideagen’s suite of risk and compliance products, which are intended to provide customers with systems of operational excellence and efficient safety management.

“We have supplied the aerospace and defense industry with innovative software and expertise for over two decades, both globally and in the U.K.,” Ideagen CEO David Hornsby said. “As a result of the acquisition of Gael, the Ideagen Group is now preparing for growth opportunities to develop contracts among our tier-one organizations, as well as secure further opportunities among tier two and three.”

The Gael acquisition is part of Ideagen’s campaign to provide ever-better services for aerospace and defense customers. Hornsby said that strategy will not only help customers, but also offer significant growth for the company this year and beyond.
