When Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyen, the crown prince of Abu
Dhabi, visited India not long ago to sign multiple economic and investment
agreements, he left the door open for a reciprocal visit by an Indian
official. Navdeep Singh Suri took him up on the offer recently.

Suri, India’s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, was
hosted by the Abu Dhabi Chamber, where he was met by Thani Murshid Al-Rumaithi,
chairman of the Federation of the UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and chairman
of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. They and the chamber discussed
increasing industrial cooperation between the two countries.

Al-Rumaithi discussed the importance of supporting
agreements and strategic partnerships among industries from both nations.
He described India as an important trading partner for the UAE, noting that
many UAE companies already have investments in India, in oil and gas exploration, energy, programming, construction, property development, shipping, ports, hotels, telecommunications and IT, among others.
