The Italian Trade Agency (ITA) is set to mark its 12th consecutive year of participation in the Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX), organized by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA). This engagement underscores ITA’s commitment to promoting Italian innovation in energy, water, and sustainability sectors. WETEX 2025 will take place from September 30 to October 2 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

ITA will spearhead an Italian pavilion featuring 50 exhibitors across a space of 600 square meters. The pavilion will include start-ups and emerging innovators. This initiative aligns with ITA’s mission to support Italian businesses in forming regional partnerships and contributing to the UAE’s sustainable development goals.

“The UAE and Italy enjoy strong, strategic relations built on long-standing ties and a shared vision for global progress,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, Founder and Chairman of WETEX. He noted that non-oil bilateral trade between the two countries reached $14.1 billion in 2024, marking a 21% increase compared to the previous year.

HE Lorenzo Fanara, Ambassador of Italy to the UAE, emphasized WETEX as a platform for showcasing Italy’s technologies in renewable energy and environmental innovation. “Our participation reflects both the depth of Italian expertise and the strength of our bilateral relations with the UAE,” he stated.

Mr Valerio Soldani, Italian Trade Commissioner at ITA – Dubai Office, remarked on WETEX as pivotal for elevating Italian innovation globally. “By facilitating impactful business connections… ITA helps turn opportunity into long-term success for our companies,” he commented.

WETEX has become integral to ITA’s global strategy by providing a launchpad into the Middle East market through structured B2B and B2G meetings. These interactions have led to several local partnerships offering strategic entry points into the GCC market.

For companies involved in solar energy, water management, and clean technologies, WETEX serves as more than just an exhibition—it offers brand visibility and direct engagement with key buyers. ITA encourages Italian firms to leverage this event for showcasing solutions aligned with regional transformation efforts.
