Japan, Qatar vow to maintain economic ties

Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Kentaro Sonoura revealed
his gratitude and satisfaction with his country’s economic ties to Qatar during a meeting with Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani.

Sonoura noted the mutual involvement in
bettering different sectors of economic and trade fields, including gas and
energy.

Trade exchange volume between the two countries
continues to grow as the collaborative efforts develop noteworthy progression
in a number of different sectors. In addition, Sonoura credited the frequent
trips leaders of each country take to visit the other with keeping the relationship
positive.

The minister voiced his gratitude toward the
people of Qatar for their support through oil assistance and other areas of
need during the natural disasters that struck Japan.

Al Thani
spoke about Japan’s importance to
Qatar as one of the original countries that began importing Qatari gas. He
added that in the future, he hopes Qatar and Japan can continue to grow and work
together in supporting each other’s economy through trade in current and future
endeavors.
  
Several businessmen and executives from the Qatar chamber
and Japan sat in on the meeting. The attendees noted they would work
together to build mutual friendships and grow business particularly in the
commerce and agriculture industries.
