KAMCO, the Kuwaiti investment and asset management firm, recently hosted a job shadowing day to let students interested in business get a taste of what it’s like to work at a major financial institution. The program was part of a partnership with Injaz-Kuwait, an NGO dedicated to developing the students who will become Kuwait’s future business leaders.

The job shadowing day included lectures and activities that highlighted the main skills students must develop to work in the industry. Participants also received a certificate of completion at a ceremony.

Injaz-Kuwait brought together 41 students studying commerce at the Caramel Indian School. On top of lectures and special activities at KAMCO’s headquarters in Al Shaheed Tower, they were invited to follow several employees from various departments to learn the responsibilities associated with those positions.

Students had the opportunity to gain insight into how different roles function together within an investment company.

Faisal Hasan, KAMCO’s chief business development officer, said that collaborating with educational institutions like Injaz-Kuwait is important for securing the future of the region’s financial industry for generations to come.

“We believe that the job shadowing event helps in providing the young talented candidates with a better understanding of our day to day activities within the departments,” Hasan said. “They get a feel for some of the daily duties we carry out within KAMCO, while having the opportunity to ask an experienced employee.”
