Kazakhstan President
Nursultan Nazarbayev

recently met with Emirati business in Abu Dhabi to encourage investment in his country, particularly in
infrastructure,
mining, energy and agriculture.

Nazarbayev

and his delegation were welcomed by the Abu
Dhabi Chamber of Commerce, with Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, crown prince
of Ajman; Sheikh Hamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, chairman of the Crown Prince Court
of Abu Dhabi; and Mohammed Thani Murshid Al-Rumaithi, chairman of the
Federation of the UAE Chamber of Commerce and Industry and chairman of the Abu
Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry in attendance.

Current Emirati
investments in Kazakhstan have surpassed $2 billion, and more than 200 Emirati companies operate there. The UAE is Kazakhstan’s biggest Arab trading partner.

Al-Rumaithi
also spoke at the meeting, welcoming Nazarbayev and noting that the president’s
visit should get the wheels turning on investment growth and bilateral relations
between the two nations. He also spoke about how Emirati businesses have been
increasing Kazakh-based investments throughout the past years, particularly in
the energy, property development and infrastructural sectors.
