King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre issued the following announcement on Jan. 29.

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (Gen. Org.) – Jeddah launched the Robotic Gynecologic Surgery Program in December 2018.

Robotic assisted surgery is increasingly used for the treatment of uterine cancer, when compared to traditional laparoscopy, it has been shown that it is associated with reduced length of stay, estimated blood loss is significantly less and patients have less post-operative pain.

Robotic assisted surgery is also used for benign hysterectomy, myomectomy. Moreover, robotic surgery has the potential to support gynecological surgeons in offering the best care to their patients.

The procedural benefits of great precision and autonomous control by the surgeon is reflected across benign and malignant disease.
