Through
the utilization of the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) system, Kuwait Chamber
of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has extended a request for Portuguese companies
to contribute to Kuwait development projects.

KCCI
Board Member Tariq Al-Mutawaa encouraged Portuguese construction companies to benefit
from the building and construction projects in Kuwait. The invitation was
extended at the reception of Portuguese economic delegation, which was headed
by Arab-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry
Secretary-General Aida Bou-Abdullah.

A
vast number of projects were listed in the state’s annual or medium-term
development plans for Kuwait in the food security, renewable energy, bridges,
infrastructure, and oil industries. Al-Mutawaa highlighted the value of having
Portuguese companies take part in these projects in hopes that the technology
and innovation used in Portugal would translate into profit and development in
Kuwait.

Bou-Abdullah
stressed the point that joint ventures with Kuwait businessmen have been
something Portuguese investors have desired for some time. In addition, the
same invitation was made from Portugal leaders, encouraging Kuwait investors to
take part in ongoing projects throughout the country.

The meeting between
leaders from the two countries was meant to better the collaborative efforts on
both parts and offer opportunities to strengthen the economies of both countries.
