Kuwait Qatar Insurance Company issued the following announcement on Aug. 12.

Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Municipality and Planning Department, Deputy Chairman of Ajman University (AU) Board of Trustees, and Chairman of AU Board Executive Committee, has paid a visit to the University campus at the Sheikh Zayed Centre to check on the reception and admission procedures of new students.

He was also briefed on the latest measures adopted for distance admissions, along with the diverse initiatives the University has launched, including ‘Open Houses’, waivers of admission fees, and discounts on tuition fees.

A presentation was given on the Open Week initiative, running on August 13 – 19, 2020. New students are to be offered full waiver of admission fees, while AU undergraduate students are to enjoy discounts up to 40% against 50% for AU graduate students, and 30% for graduates of other universities.

Karim Seghir, Ph.D., AU Chancellor, gave a presentation on the international accreditations Ajman University has recently earned; mainly the global accreditation from the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA). AU is one of three universities in the MENA region, and one of two institutions in the UAE to receive this elite status! The Accounting Program in the College of Business Administration (CBA) has received the CIMA accreditation and CPA Australia as well.

Further, AU Chancellor underlined that the AU Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy program has received the international certification from the USA-based Accreditation Council for Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE), while the AU Bachelor of Law program has been awarded “Five-Year Unreserved Accreditation” by the High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (HCERES). AU is one of only 11 universities in the MENA region to have met the rigorous evaluation standards set forth by HCERES. Only one other institution in the UAE can claim the same distinction.

Dr Seghir also talked about the AU recently accredited programs, including the Master of Public Relations and Corporate Communication, Master of Science program in Artificial Intelligence, Bachelor of Science in Data Analytics. The programs, accredited by the UAE’s Commission for Academic Accreditation, are to start in the Academic Year 2020-2021.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Rashid was briefed on the preventive measures Ajman University has adopted to ensure students’ safety and wellbeing.

Sheikh Rashid paid tributes to the relentless efforts made by the university to improve the quality of educational outcomes and to organize the admission and registration process of new students using the latest technology.
