Facial and fingerprint identification has made a quantum
leap in Kuwait’s financial sector with Gulf Bank becoming the region’s first to
embrace biometric authentication using Daon’s IdentityX platform, a high-security
verification solution for retail customers.

Gulf Bank, which ranks among the state’s leading financial
institutions, upgraded its digital security system by engaging the international
biometrics and identity assurance software firm to provide Kuwaiti customers
with Daon’s branded, state-of-the-art mobile biometric authentication system,
adding greater efficiency and heightened security.

“Digital banking is important to our customers and we
wanted to make it convenient and simple for them to conduct their banking
transactions with our new mobile banking app,” Gulf Bank CEO Cesar
Gonzalez-Bueno said. “By working with Daon, we were able to leverage cutting-edge
technology with global best practices to provide our customers with an enhanced
mobile banking experience.”

Daon strives to make mobile authentication and identity
lifecycle management more secure through biometrics. The company manages
millions of individual accounts in over 20 countries. Its IdentityX performs
fingerprint, face and voice recognition.

“Our customers can now login with biometrics using their
fingerprint touch ID and ‘Blinking to Bank’ facial recognition from anywhere
in the world and perform a wide array of banking transactions efficiently and
securely,” Gonzalez-Bueno said.
