Lulu Group adds sixth hypermarket in Kuwait

Dubai-based retailer Lulu Group recently opened its sixth hypermarket in Kuwait.

“Kuwait has always been a preferred destination for us because of its stable political environment and promising market,” Lulu Group Chairman Yousuf Ali said. “We thank His Highness the Amir Sabah Al Ahamad Al Jaber Al Sabah and the people of this country for encouraging us in all our expansion strategies and efforts in Kuwait.”

The new 150,000-square-foot outlet at the Sama Mall in South Kuwait is intended to provide the residents of Egaila and the surrounding areas with a one-stop shopping destination. Shoppers have access to a variety of international products, including U.S. and U.K. goods, that are of high quality and available at affordable prices.

Lulu Group is optimistic on Kuwait’s economic future and plans to open four new hypermarkets throughout the country over the next two years.

“The impact of fluctuating oil prices is not going to distract us from the long-term goals of our business in Kuwait,” Ali said.

The sixth Kuwait hypermarket represents Lulu Group’s 123 store. The hypermarket chain includes locations across Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Egypt and India.
