Citizen Watches, the Tokyo-based watch-making company, recently awarded Marzooq Al Shamlan & Sons the contract to be the Japanese brand’s official retailer in Qatar.

High-level delegations from both the Qatari retailer and the Japanese watch manufacturer announced the partnership after successful meetings in Doha.

Marzooq Al Shamlan & Sons boasts outlets in every leading mall in Qatar, including the newly opened Gulf and Yezdan malls. Including other non-mall locations, Marzooq Al Shamlan & Sons saturates almost 80 percent of Doha’s retail landscape.

“With the growing demand for our brand in Qatar, it was but natural to partner with a retailer who has good number of doors and a good brand portfolio,” Takuma Murata, of Citizen Watches Middle East, said. “Marzooq Al Shamlan & Sons has a very sophisticated and advanced approach to retail.”

Mohammed Al Shamlan, Marzooq Al Shamlan & Sons’ managing director, said bringing world-class Citizen Watch products on board has been on the company’s wish list for a long time.

“Citizen is truly a world class watch manufacturer in all regards, capable of making the world’s most admired timepieces completely in house,” Al Shamlan said. “We are very proud to have been associated with a brand that has been in the forefront of innovation always defying the conventional approach. We as a retailer also defy the conventional approach to satisfy our customers and give them the best experience.”
