HEC Paris professor Andrea Masini was named the new dean of the school’s top-ranked MBA program Wednesday.
Masini has been with the school since 2010 as an MBA and doctoral program instructor, as well as a professor for the schools’ executive education programs, including those offered in Qatar. Prior to HEC, Masini taught at the London School of Business and earned his Ph.D. in management from INSEAD. He has also studied mechanical engineering at Rome’s La Pienza Univerisity.
School officials said Masini is frequently consulted by public and private entities on his research interests of process optimization, technology and innovation.
“The HEC MBA is unquestionably a reference model, with high-level teaching delivered by internationally renowned professors, a diverse profile of students, capped off professionally by a structured network of graduates who are active throughout the world,” Masini said. “This position presents me with a new challenge that I am sure can be accomplished with motivation and commitment.”
Masini takes the reins from Bernard Garrette, who has lead the program for the past five years.
“Bernard Garrette has carried out a lot of great work at the head of the MBA, as much on an academic level as on a personal one,” Peter Todd said. “Under his direction, the international renown of the program has been reinforced, in the same way as the quality and implementation of the curriculum. HEC Paris owes him an awful lot.”
HEC Paris is a business education school founded in 1881. The school’s MBA program attracts students from 50 different nationalities and consistently posts top European and international rankings.
