Al Maha Medical personnel said a symposium featuring world leaders in medicine, varied
learning opportunities and networking potential for participants will be featured at the second annual Qatar International Medical Congress (QIMC) running through Friday in Doha. 

“We are proud to participate at QIMC for the second
consecutive year,” Dr. Mohammed Hamad Al-Nuaimi, Al Maha Medical’s general
manager, said. “We expect that our participation this year will be a very special
one as the exhibition and conference will have strategic importance for Qatar,
considering the prominent speakers and experts who will discuss unprecedented
topics, and we expect witnessed deals and agreements aimed at strengthening the
medical industry in Qatar.” 

Forum topics will include prospects for manufacturing
medical equipment in Qatar, discussion of recent diagnostic breakthroughs and
new medical technologies accessible to the market. QIMC’s speakers will
feature Professor Johannes Schweizer of Stanford University in California plus
researchers from Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s Qatar Computing Research
Institute (QCRI). 

Epidemiological diseases such as AIDS, hepatitis, Ebola,
Zika and other viruses are among disorders for which recent findings will be
revealed. The convention is offered under the auspices of Sheikh Abdullah Bin
Nasser Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, prime minister of Qatar and minister of the interior. 

“One of the most prominent characteristic of this
year’s edition is the emergence of researchers … interested in breaking ground for
manufacturing in Qatar, due to the great support offered by the country`s
leadership, as well as … Qatar Development Bank and Manateq,” Morad
Mallah, Al Maha Medical’s executive manager, said.
