Medtronic unveiled its Valleylab FT10 energy platform aimed at helping surgeons increase their efficiency when performing critical patient procedures

during the recent Arab Health Exhibition and Congress in Dubai.

The platform can determine and precisely deliver the level of energy required to body tissues during delicate surgical techniques such as incisions involved with

general, bariatric, colorectal, gynecological, urological

a variety of other procedures.

“We’ve built a generator that is smaller, simpler and more intelligent in its energy delivery to provide surgeons with the ideal tool for today’s complex procedures,” Medtronic Chief Medical Officer of Emerging Markets Ned Cosgriff
said. “Its innovative design reflects our commitment to meeting the needs of surgeons and health care systems around the world by providing them with advanced technology and training focused on improve patient outcomes.”

Medtronic’s Valleylab FT10 energy platform follows the launch of the medical technology company’s Medtronic Academy with Sharjah University
last year. The Medtronic Academy has proven successful as it has provided training to approximately 600 physicians across the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia and Turkey region. Courses offered include those related to cardiac and vascular therapies and general surgeries.

The Valleylab energy platform is expected to be available in Kuwait next month.
