MICCO invests millions in Industrial Zone at Khalifa Port

Al Mazroui International Cargo Company (MICCO) recently partnered with Abu Dhabi Ports, the operator and manager of both industrial zones as well as ports throughout Abu Dhabi, to create a novel Logistics Business Center within the Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (Kizad).

“Abu Dhabi Ports has enjoyed a long-standing business partnership with MICCO – going back to the start of operations at Zayed Port,” Capt. Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports, said. “This new agreement with MICCO marks our continued efforts in supporting their business. Kizad, Khalifa Ports’ industrial, trade, and logistics hub, is the ideal location for expanding logistics network and assisting MICCO expand its reach and develop business growth opportunities.”

The two organizations signed a standard Musataha agreement that guarantees the facility will be designed with MICCO’s renowned temperature-controlled storage facilities. It will also feature distribution services, bulk storage in open yards, and a service center dedicated to its trucking fleet.

“Khalifa Port and Kizad play an important role in our business,” Capt. A.M. Simreen, managing director at MICCO, said. “Our major clients include ADNOC, Takreer, GASCO, ADCO, NPCC, Borouge, Al Hosn Gas Development, ADGAS and ADMA-OPCO and several other large semi-government and privately-owned industrial enterprises and world renowned Engineering Companies that require access to the range of world-class services and opportunities presented by a Kizad home base. The new agreement allows us to better serve our current and prospective clients, in Abu Dhabi and the region as a whole.”
