His Excellency Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs and President and CEO of QatarEnergy, hosted a farewell reception on April 26 in honor of Khalid Mohammed Laram, the former Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Aluminium (Qatalum).

Al-Kaabi said the event was to recognize Laram’s long service, leadership, and contributions over more than forty years. The minister said: “For over ten years, Mr. Khalid Laram was the steady hand that ensured the continued success of Qatar’s renowned world-class aluminium smelter. I would like to express my deepest gratitude for his remarkable accomplishments and valuable contributions both at Qatalum and QatarEnergy and its group companies.”

Laram began his career with QatarEnergy in 1985. His work included involvement in developing the North Field Dome in 1987, contributing to Qatar Gas’ first liquefied natural gas trains in 1991, and serving as project manager for NGL-4. He later became Deputy General Manager for Al-Khaleej Gas.

In 2013, Laram was appointed Deputy General Manager at Qatalum before becoming Chief Executive Officer in 2015.

The reception highlighted recognition from senior leadership for Laram’s role in key projects within both Qatalum and QatarEnergy.
