New Hamad Airport operator will fly solo

A new company will begin steering all operations at Hamad Internatonal Airport (HIA), Qatar Airways announced recently.

The
airline’s executive board of directors established the company, which
will be its own entity under the Qatar Airways Group umbrella. It will
provide operations for a variety of services and facilities at HIA,
including Qatar Duty Free, a premium shopping area that houses 70
boutiques and 30 cafes and restaurants, as well as a hotel squash
courts, a gym, a swimming pool and a spa.

 
HIA is
world renowned, having won many world-class awards and recognitions. These
include Skytrax’s Middle East’s Best Airport in 2015 and 2016; Skytrax Best
Staff Service in the Middle East 2016; and previously Best Airport Award at the
Future Travel Experience (FTE) Asia Awards in 2015.
