Free Wi-Fi was just part of the package for the 200-plus passengers taking advantage of Oman Air’s first leg of its new daily flight service between Muscat and London on April 12, the airline reported.
Extending the celebratory mood, the company’s CEO, Paul Gregorowitsch, hosted Omani officials later that day with a dinner in London. Abdulaziz Al Hinai, ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman; John Holland-Kaye, CEO of London Heathrow Airport; and U.K. travel stakeholders were among the guests.
“On behalf of Oman Air , I am delighted to be joined by so many frequent flyers already to celebrate the launch of our new service between Muscat and London,” Gregorowitsch said. “Oman Air’s new service will further strengthen the long-held economic and political ties between the two countries … It has also been a real pleasure to join so many of our loyal and valued customers aboard the inaugural flight.”
To further enhance the convenience of the new flight, Oman Air is offering all its passengers free Wi-Fi connectivity through April 25. Economy class travelers will enjoy 15 minutes of 10Mb-service, while first and business-class ticket holders will have access to up to two hours of connection time.
The initial flight landed at Heathrow Airport at 6:30 a.m. on April 12, where crew and passengers were officially welcomed with a “magnificent” cake-cutting ceremony. The new service heralds a milestone, echoing the significance of Oman Air’s first London service, which began in 2007. Additionally, it creates convenient shortcuts to global connections in North America.
