Winners of the 2016 Oman Air Media Awards were honored during the recent ITB Berlin,

the world’s leading travel trade show.

The awards recognize exceptional work among the German and Switzerland media pertaining to travel-related writing about Oman Air and the Oman area.

Ina Volkmer and Tina Bremer were acknowledged for their articles in Laura magazine and Swiss magazine Bolero, respectively. Volkmer wrote about the warm hospitality of the Omani people and food available at Nizwa Souk while Bremer focused on the traditional and progressive aspects of the sultanate of Oman.

Marko Roth was named winner of the bloggers category for his film about Oman.

Harald Schmidt received the online media award for a feature on living in Oman in which he discussed the Middle Eastern country’s history, culture and friendliness of its people.

“We would like to offer our sincere congratulations to each of the four winners,” Oman Air CEO Paul Gregorowitsch said. “Ina, Tina, Marko and Harald have all published outstanding print, online or video articles about Oman and we are delighted to recognise their work. We would also like to thank the very many other journalists throughout German-language media who have helped to raise awareness of Oman, celebrated the many wonderful attractions that the country offers to visitors and set an extremely high standard in travel writing.”
