Eighty young women recently received training in entrepreneurial skills as participants in the Female Entrepreneur Program.

The recently completed series of three-day workshops was developed by Oman Sail and implemented with the help of the German company SAP in cooperation with the King Baudouin Foundation. The program focused on teaching the 80 young unemployed Omani women employment and life skills.

“This course aims to teach valuable employment and entrepreneur skills to Omani women over 18 years of age,” Ahmed Al Mamari, CPD senior facilitator at Oman Sail, said. “The participants have been nominated by the Ministry of Manpower, and the skills they learn will equip each individual with vital leadership, problem solving, communication and teamwork attributes, as well as raising the entrepreneurial spirit and confidence of young Arab women wanting to go into business, inspiring them to create opportunities and providing vital networking and peer support in order to succeed.”

The female entrepreneur program is part of Oman Sail’s Corporate and Personal Development Program. After the final session, Oman Sail plans to hold a recognition ceremony for the graduates to celebrate their achievements as they learned creative thinking, cooperation and leadership skills.
