The GCC-India Forum is underway in Saudi Arabia’s commercial hub of Jeddah, bringing together business leaders from both regions. This year, an Omani delegation joins the forum. The two-day forum is organized to bring together key players from Gulf zone and Indian companies to network and learn about upcoming business and investment opportunities.

It also sets the agenda for strengthening economic ties and relationships between India and Gulf nations.

Oman chose to send a delegation this year chaired by Hilal bin Hamad Al Hasani, CEO of the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates. His goal will be to represent Omani interests at the forum and to build relationships with both his Indian counterparts and with partner GCC nations.

The GCC-India forum is organized in cooperation between the Federation of Gulf Cooperation Council Chambers, the Confederation of Indian Industry, the Council of Saudi Chambers and the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Oman’s delegates will have the opportunity to discuss a number of industrial sectors and policy issues that affect economic cooperation between Gulf countries and India. Topics include investment opportunities between the two zones, sovereign funds, trade, healthcare, and encouraging businesswomen from the regions to cooperate. Broader policy discussions will include energy security, food security, agriculture and IT infrastructure.

The fourth GCC-India Forum concludes today at King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) in Jeddah.
