Oman Oil Marketing Company (Omanoil) said Tuesday that it has recently donated $39,000 to support the South Al Batinah branch of the Omani Association for Elderly Friends.

The Omani Association for Elderly Friends is a nonprofit, registered with the Ministry of Social Development, that improves the lives of senior citizens through partnerships with public and private companies. The organization has several branches across Oman and focuses on improving access to health care services, equipment and assistance.

“At Omanoil, our aim has always been to support people throughout the sultanate and provide them with assistance they need,” Omanoil General Manager of Human Resources Faisal Al Shanfari said. “Since its formation in 2011, the Omani Association for Elderly Friends has successfully brought the needs of our senior citizens to the forefront, however theirs is no easy feat and they require support to continue their invaluable work. The support we provided will assist 120 seniors with all the medical services they need.”

The donation adds to a list of other social initiatives advanced by Omanoil, including road safety programs, environmental protection and awareness campaigns, blood drives and gas station safety.
