Telecommunications operator Ooredoo recently entered into two deals with Cisco aimed at increasing its offerings for companies in Qatar.

A leasing deal with Cisco will allow Ooredoo enterprise customers to lease Cisco hardware for networking solutions, video and instant messaging, telephony, servers and collaboration technology.

“In the current environment, more companies in Qatar are looking to manage costs and support a more streamlined IT investment strategy,” Ooredoo Qatar CEO Waleed Al Sayed said. “We have pushed for this leasing agreement because it enables Ooredoo business customers to stay up-to-date with the latest solutions and remain within their budgets.”

At the end of a three-year contract, customers have the option of purchasing the equipment for a low price, discontinuing use of the equipment or having the current equipment replaced.

The second agreement will make Cisco’s virtual managed services accessible to Ooredoo customers in the Qatar market. This involves automated cloud-based offerings, including Cisco’s Cloud VPN, which has secure business connectivity as well as routing for site-to-site, remote access and Internet gateway applications.

“We are continually looking to enhance the range of services and solutions available to companies in Qatar, working with an ecosystem of technology leaders,” Sayed said. “Our relationship with Cisco, the worldwide leader in networking, continues to bring new solutions that enable companies to connect, communicate and deliver incredible benefits for their customers.”
