International communications company Ooredoo, based in Qatar, is showcasing its mobile solutions at the GSMA Mobile World Congress this week in Barcelona, Spain.

Ooredoo demonstrations include 5G technology, which would allow for more connected devices and faster data speeds.

“Ooredoo has shown that faster networks deliver real economic and social benefits across our markets, giving people access to more information, education and transformative services,” Ooredoo Group CEO Skeikh Saud Bin Nasser Al Thani said. “Ooredoo aims to remain at the cutting-edge of network innovation, which is why we are already taking key steps to be ready to introduce 5G network services as soon as customer demand and 5G-compatable handsets are available, and have already brought Voice over LTE to market.”

Ooredoo is also exhibiting Voice over LTE services which offer customers access to crystal clear HD voice calls, the ability to switch between voice and video calls and the ability to search the Internet while on a call. Ooredoo successfully tried the service in Qatar during a precommercial phase last year.

In addition to showcasing its mobile technology, Ooredoo is using the Mobile World Congress event to shed light on its accomplishments regarding updating and optimizing networks in the areas of the Middle East, North Africa and Southeast Asia.
