A high-level delegation from Ooredoo Kuwait was on hand for the GSM Association’s Mobile 360 Middle East conference in Dubai last week, where the group networked with major global players in the telecom sector.

Ooredoo Kuwait is part of the Ooredoo Group, which is one of the Middle East’s largest mobile telecommunication and ICT providers as well as a platinum sponsor of the conference.

Officials from Ooredoo Kuwait met with other major industry leaders, including the Chinese network giant Huawei, to bring new technologies and services to the Kuwaiti market.

Ooredoo Kuwait COO Hani El-Kukhun said the company’s market penetration in Kuwait is on the rise, so the challenge now is to offer customers better value. That can be done, he said, through offering better data services and content.

Ooredoo Kuwait is already giving domestic customers free access to mobile data for certain apps, such as Skype and WhatsApp. Offering those kinds of services is helping Ooredoo Kuwait attract new subscribers.

“With our high-speed LTE network infrastructure, we’re able to demonstrate a clear difference in the data network which is one of the major demands of customers,” Kukhun said. “Typically they evaluate your data offers and connectivity before they look at call packages as people spend more time using data than making calls.”
