Qatar-based telecommunications company Ooredoo said recently it again partnered with Lionel Messi to launch a new advertising campaign, “Together We Do Wonders,”
following the award-winning success of its previous “Simply Do Wonders” campaign with the Argentine footballer.

Messi, Ooredoo Group Deputy CEO Waleed Al Sayed and other Ooredoo executives were on hand for the premier of the new commercial in Barcelona. The advertisement focuses on Ooredoo’s strategic themes of teamwork, technological skills and striving to do your best.

The new campaign will focus on Ooredoo’s international corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects and the company’s promotion of sport across the region, as well as spotlighting the opportunities that technology can offer.

Together We Do Wonders is an interactive campaign offering an enthusiastic micro-site with an online strategy game, Stand for Good. The game is designed for players to capture a football pitch in different locations across Ooredoo’s business map and hold the ball for 12 hours in order to be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a return flight to Barcelona to meet Messi, Ooredoo’s global brand ambassador, and watch him play for Spain’s Barcelona club.

“Our first campaign encouraged young people to ‘simply do wonders’ – to be the best they could be, which is something we hope to inspire across our footprint,” Al Sayed said. “Our new ‘Together We Simply Do Wonders’ campaign aims to inspire young people to help those in need and support sport for the less fortunate. We’re very proud to continue our great work with Leo Messi and thank him for his on-going support for our initiatives.”

After playing the game, viewers can also engage in one of several community projects supported by Ooredoo. Players can become involved in the Mobile Health Clinics in Indonesia, Myanmar, Algeria and Tunisia in partnership with the Leo Messi Foundation.

Some of the CSR initiatives supported by Ooredoo’s campaign include its partnership with the Leo Messi Foundation on its mobile health clinic program, which delivers healthcare services for distant areas in Indonesia, Myanmar, Algeria, and Tunisia.

The program is designed to bring healthcare to underprivileged areas and that goal was put into action with the delivery of mobile health clinics in Algeria in 2015, services offered to 73 communities in Myanmar, of which 75 percent of recipients were female. In addition, the program has launched 16 mobile health clinics in Indonesia to travel the region.

“The Leo Messi Foundation is pleased to work with Ooredoo on a wide range of programs to support people around the world, and I’m delighted this new campaign enables fans to make a contribution to and raise the profile of these efforts,” said Lionel Messi, football star and.
