Dubai-based satellite television provider Orbit Showtime Network (OSN) is rolling out a series of new retail outlets in the United Arab Emirates to meet rising satellite TV demand.

In response to a spike in TV package subscriptions in the UAE, OSN is opening 24 retail outlets over the next year. The expansion of OSNs retail network comes on the heels of an all new set of programming packages for 2016 and new technology platforms that are taking the way Emiratis watch TV to a whole new level.

OSN is working alongside Sharaf DG to open up the new retail outlets. As one of the UAE’s biggest electronics retailers, Sharaf DG offers the perfect platform for in-store micro locations across the electronics giant’s network. To promote that partnership, all customers that subscribe to an OSN satellite package will receive a $136 gift certificate for any Sharaf DG outlet.

The partnership also puts OSN outlets in UAE malls including Yas Mall, Meaisem, Mercato, Fujairah and Bawabat el Sharq.

OSN Senior Vice President for Core Sales

Ed Sawday said adding more services and more retail outlets is one of the company’s key initiatives.

“Retail expansion is part of our growth strategy to be closer to our customers and to offer them effortless access to our unmatched portfolio of premium content,” Sawday said. “We are delighted to welcome Sharaf DG as a retail partner of OSN, further strengthening our retail network and establishing us as the pay-TV network with the largest retail presence in the country.”
