Saudi Arabia saw softwood lumber imports increase 24 percent between 2014 and 2015, Woodstat, a statistics firm that tracks changes in the forestry and lumber industries around the world, recently reported. Organizers of the Dubai WoodShow 2016, the Middle East’s biggest trade fair for wood products, attribute the rise to the increase in demand for wood furniture and construction.
