Oman’s Tourism Ministry and the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) of Muscat announced the planned openings in August of a new center and a convention bureau. "Oman is quickly gaining a reputation as one of the world's most exciting meeting, convention and exhibition destinations with the catalyst being ... the OCEC,” Ministry of Tourism Undersecretary Maitha Al Mahrouqi said.

With the tourism sector in Oman booming, investors and developers of the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) expect the facility's 2016 opening to be a big event. OCEC Director of Business and Development Gillian Taylor recently unveiled "Oman - an Oasis of Opportunity," a new initiative to spotlight the growth of the business events industry in the sultanate.

The Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre will host the Oman Bride Show April 27-30, 2016. Organized by East Expo, the Sultanate’s biggest wedding event will showcase a range of bridal products and services such as flowers, entertainment and venues.
