The Sultanate of Oman recently began hosting wedding planners as well as event organizers from India in order to help visitors better plan their tourist activities in the Sultanate. The wedding planners are visiting the area to collaborate with Sultanate leaders and suppliers who work in the wedding industry. The goal is to strengthen the cooperation between the two nations in this industry. They hope to support the Sultanate as an events and wedding destination.

Oman Ministry of Tourism Undersecretary Maitha Al Mahrouq is heading a ministry delegation to IMEX 2016, a global trade fair for the meetings, incentives, conferences and events (MICE) sector that begins Tuesday in Frankfurt, Germany. IMEX 2016 will give the ministry the opportunity to showcase the sultanate to the MICE sector as an ideal destination in the region.

The Oman Ministry of Tourism launched a mobile tourist vehicle project at Port of Salalah in an effort to develop small and medium businesses that add to the growth of tourist sites. The project will involve two vehicles selling traditional craft projects, two vehicles selling Omani foods, two vehicles selling fruit juices and one vehicle providing information and tourism services.

Oman's Ministry of Tourism signed a memorandum of understanding with Ooredoo that will open an avenue for sharing technical and management expertise in support of Omani tourism. The agreement will mostly concern events and training organized by the ministry and Ooredoo. Both parties agreed to cross-promote each others events and to facilitate trainings with tourism businesses.

The Oman Ministry of Tourism recently highlighted the nation's tourist attractions at a presentation in Saudi Arabia. Ministry Director General of Tourism Promotion Salim Bin Adey said the goal is to promote "the wonderful range of tourism attractions Oman has to offer."
